Where: Max Roach Park (where the bugs roam free, but the bottle tops donโt!)
What: Community clean-up with a side of cardio
We were cap-tivated to be back at Max Roach Park this week, answering the call from Tom at Lambeth Council for another epic bottle top crack down! Because apparently, bottle tops are like glitter โ they get EVERYWHERE and refuse to leave the party. ๐พโจ
Tonight we had the fantastic four: Dan, Adam, Michael, and Ben absolutely crushing it (or should we say, trowel-ing it?). Thanks so much for turning up, guys โ you really are the tops! ๐ค
Tom rolled out the red carpetโฆ well, actually he rolled out the trowels, dustpans, brushes, black bags, and high vis vests โ basically the Lamborghini of cleaning equipment. We felt VERY fancy. ๐ฅณ
Our mission: tackle the areas around the bins (because apparently thatโs where all the party fouls happen). We collected:
In devastating news, we completely binned our sweetie treat tradition tonight. We forgot them! But fear not โ this means DOUBLE treats next time! ๐๐ฌ๐ซ
Your teeth have been warned. Your taste buds should be excited.
Until next time, keep running, keep doing good, and remember: weโre not just picking up rubbish but getting our fitness on as well so for another week โ weโve bin there, done that! ๐๏ธโค๏ธโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

Mission: Operation Lavender Rescue at Max Roach Park
This week, our magnificent crew of do-gooders descended upon Max Roach Park faster than weeds in a rainstorm! Michelle and the Friends of MR Park rolled out the green carpet (literally) and invited us to wage war on the burdock bandits threatening their beloved Lavender Maze. ๐
The A-Team Assembled:
Our old pal Father Nature was on hand to brief the troops, and boy, did we get down and dirty! Armed with determination and questionable gardening skills, we pulled, stuffed, and mulched like our lives depended on it. Those weeds didnโt stand a chance โ we really rooted them out! ๐ฑ
The burdock invasion was no match for our elite squad. We showed those prickly customers the door (or should we say, the compost heap?). The lavender can finally breathe easy and smell sweet again!
Post-Mission Debrief: Ben came through with the ultimate reward โ homemade brownies to complete the bake-off sweepstake! Because nothing says โwe crushed itโ like crushing some chocolate treats. ๐ซ
Great work, team! Youโre all mint to be doing this! ๐ฟ
Same thyme next week? ๐โโ๏ธโจโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

This week we were rooting for a great cause as we returned to help the amazing Adam & Nicole from Holy Trinity with a tree-mendous task - planting 120+ baby trees! ๐ฑ๐ช๐ผ
Our group may have been small, but we definitely weren't leaf-ing anyone behind! Adam brought in some brilliant extra volunteers from the HT community, and together we really branched out - managing to plant nearly 100 trees! Talk about getting to the root of the problem! ๐
We wood-n't have been able to do it without our fantastic crew tonight. A huge shout-out to Nicole, Adam, Jo and Anna for joining us - you guys are absolutely tree-riffic! ๐ค Thanks so much for sticking with us (pun absolutely intended).
The turnout might have been on the smaller side, but the effort was mighty oak-sized! ๐ Every tree planted is a seed of hope for our community's future.
Until next time, keep running and doing good! ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Fir real though, you're all legends. ๐ฒโจ

This week, our magnificent crew of do-gooders traded their usual running routes for a different kind of marathon - the Great Garage Clear-Out of 2025! ๐ฆ๐๏ธ
We descended upon Myatts Fields to help Kim with a mission that would make Marie Kondo sweat: shifting a lifetime's worth of treasures (and let's be honest, some questionable "I'll definitely use this someday" items) from her Hackney collection out into the daylight for inventory! โ๏ธ
The Task-master Lineup:
๐ Fabian - Our brilliant newbie made their debut and swept us off our feet (literally - they were on broom duty)! Welcome to the gang, Fabian - you really cleaned up on your first mission! ๐งนโจ
๐ฆธโโ๏ธ The Usual Suspects: Ben, Michael, Dan, Paul, and Patrick brought their A-game, grabbing, sorting, and stacking like a well-oiled (albeit slightly dusty) machine!
๐ฐ Adam - Our knight in shining apron stepped up when tragedy struck the Bake Off tent (no baker = no bakes ๐ฑ). This absolute legend whipped up a gluten-free fruit cake AND brought Tupperware for transport. Adam, you really take the biscuit! ๐๐
Mission Highlights: - โ Sorted everything into neat categories (playing real-life Tetris with decades of memories!) - โ Gave the garage a thorough sweep (though we're pretty sure the dust declared victory and staged a comeback) ๐งน๐จ - โ Proved that many hands make light work (even when that work involves heavy boxes!)
Another cracking evening of fitness, teamwork, and community spirit! Who knew cardio could involve this much carrying? ๐ช๐
Same time next week, GoodGym heroes? ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ

This week, our magnificent GoodGymers wheely outdid themselves at Agnes Riley Gardens! ๐
We joined forces with Harriet and the Friends of the Gardens for some serious pond-to-compost action. The mission? Transport mountains of freshly dredged pond weeds to their final resting place. It was time to get mucky! ๐ฟ
A huge welcome to our fabulous first-timers Omkar and Bill - you absolutely smashed it! We hope this is just the beginning of your GoodGym journey. Youโve set the bar-row very high! ๐
Our legendary regulars were back and better than ever: Ben, Perdie, Fi, Adam, and the amazing Tilly, who blessed us all with her heavenly brownies and meringue cookies (because nothing says โwell doneโ like sugar and carbs after manual labour!). ๐ช๐ค
Armed with garden forks, spades, and brooms, we got straight to work loading up our trusty wheelbarrows - affectionately dubbed Barrow Obama, Wheeliam Shakespeare, and Scarlett Jobarrowson - and sprinted them over to the compost heap. It was basically CrossFit meets gardening, and we were here for it!
Mid-mission, we discovered an adorable pond newt (now officially named Isaac Newt-on) chilling in the weeds. After a brief photoshoot, Sir Newt-on was safely returned to his watery kingdom. Long may he reign! ๐
Another fantastic evening of fitness, friendship, and freshly cleared ponds! The gardens are looking gorgeous, our legs got a serious workout, and we all left with muddy trainers and massive smiles.
Until next week, GoodGymers! Keep running, keep doing good! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
