Brent Report written by Ellie Hutch
9 Brent badasses braved the cold, for a task they were told, would bring some positivity to the Brent community.
Now to begin this tale of a Monday night in Brent, to say it was cold would be an understatement.... My people, it was FREEEEEEZZZZZIINNNGGGG
But despite the chill in air, it was awesome to be met with such a warm reception at the Queensbury. Joining the rad regulars, was new to the Brent gang, Jorge and this four language speaking, salsa dancing, winner from Wembley, we sure were happy to have join the ranks!
So after a quick hello it was 3,2,1 GOOOO Down the one mile dash to our regular task master Colin and to finish our mural of all the Goodgym hardwork in the Old Police Station, turned art hub, for the community of Willesden.
As usual Colin had lots of work to be done. but namely the continuation of our Goodgym mural, which required sketches of Goodgym related scenes, the hard work and the hilarity. So it was down to our most arty threesome to get working on that.... Liz, Nisha and Saorla, who designed and sketched our scenes onto the wall.
The rest of the gang focused on some more manual labour; shifting debrit from the last few rooms that needed painting and moving very heavy bricks and debrit outside to clear more space for artist's to work.
The really tough and strong tasks were tackled by Debs, Pete and Jorge. Who worked tirelessly and in the cold too, slinging heavy loads into Colin's van for removal. Dinesh, Nisha and I, got busy inside, moving all kinds of heavy and interesting things from one room to the next; Including a full desk and draws and some extremely heavy storage boxes.
Our efforts of course cheered on as usual by the resident cats who thought our hard work was PUUURRRRfect
After a good 45 mins of arts and slinging crafts, I had to sadly ring the final bell. But the fun didn't stop there, oh nooo!!! There was just enough time for some Hill-arity to warm up and get our fitness on, before home.
So off we flew, chugging that hill in the old school train drill, followed by tempos down to finish!! No stopping the steam from this troop of train dodgers, as each one pushed hard for a HIIT session from hell.... no wait, I mean heaven!
Farewells were next, after we'd done our best. For Brent we did task, for a worthy cause who did ask. Using our legs to travel, then hills we did battle. Now back home for some dinner, Monday night, what a winner!!
See you next time!!!

Sheffield Report written by Tom Mutton
Seventeen Sensational @GGSheff runners ran to Sharrow Community Forum to help sand and assemble chairs for a wood CNC workshop!
After welcoming @HelpSheffield Phil Vintin to the team we headed off to SCF. On arrival and after boosting our team numbers by two we headed into the workshop to meet Marvelous Marie.
Marverlous Marie gave us all a fantastic brief explaining the plans for the workshop and how @GGSheff have helped to get it to it's working state it's in now.
We got straight to it with 2 grades of sandpaper to ensure a quality finish on the edges before gluing and bashing the pieces into place.
We even had a chance to try out the shop made balance boards with some impressive results.
After a quick drink to quench our thirst we headed to a near by playground and got straight to business with some:
We then finished with a straight arm hang where Magic Mike & Tenacious Tim impressed all with their gorilla grip!
Until next time, happy running!
Tom :)

Hackney Report written by Joel Wiles
20 Fitness seeking GoodGymers smashed 60 minutes of Running Fitness Action!
Third of 4 sessions in Clapham brought a top turnout! Great to see so many Goodgym first timers coming along, hope it is the first of many!
First it was all about getting warm, hitting up some dynamic stretches as well as dialling into a few vital coaching points to improve our running form. Once our pulses were raised, muscles activated and joints mobilised we got going with some balance focused activities.
We then completed a range of running drills aimed to improve our running posture, efficiency and allow us to get to a higher top end speed.
This is where the fun kicked off with six 50 metre accelerations really pushing the pace along. Really powerful reps were on show which was great to see before we moved over to the pond!
Three 300 metres laps with 2 minutes recovery at a smooth and strong intensity aiming to complete each rep in exactly the same time. We gritted it out and really worked hard to maintain our challenging rhythm.
To finish off the evening we crushed 5 laps of the pond in teams of 4 (and 1 hard core 3). Each person running a third of the way around before tagging a teammate in. Seriously quick relay legs on show great to see everyone's running cadence massively increase through the session!!
Next week is the last in Clapham for a while so please sign up and come along for some more fitness fun!
Smooth Running

19 Fitness 4 All athletes dominated 60 minutes of awesome running focused training on Clapham Common.
The first of this block back in South London and we had a top turnout!!
Needing to make use of the lighter evenings we packed the running portion of the session in early. Having a knee drive and linear body movement focus we got out technique on, really tightening up our running forms.
Alternating running accelerations and knee driving skipping we got our pulses raised and muscles pumping as we gradually upped the effort levels.
We rolled straight into a couple of 4 minutes blocks of continuous running alternation harder and easy running. Top knee driving on show as we powered our way into 3 blocks of 5 minutes of continuous 3 person relays. Smashing the first set with some hard running then keeping it Smooth with some medium tuning before raising the effort levels for the last 2 minutes!
A short recovery and we had a go at some more form drills focused on landing under of body to keep us kind on the body and efficiently fast.
We finished the session with 2 rounds of full body circuits, 45 seconds of Legs, 45 seconds of Core and 45 seconds of Conditioning CV.
Great effort and application Team! hope to see you all again for the rest of the month to build on the Fitness gains!
Smooth Running
