Last Night GoodGym members had return of a group run back to Brockhill. This group run involves a lovely run down the canal for 3.5km. Once arrived we always receive a warm welcome from the residents.
**What is Brockhill?
Brockhill extra care is a unique housing scheme, located in Goldsworth Park, designed to meet the needs of frail or vulnerable people living in Woking. Unlike other schemes it offers round the clock care to help people with additional support needs to remain as independent as possible.
**The Task
The task involved sanding down the garden furniture and then giving it many coats of vanish!
Triple celebrations for James at GoodGym
James was celebrating his 100th Good Deed, Birthday and being a Grandad! What a busy week.
A big welcome to Becky who joined us.
Last night we welcomed Rebecca who joined us for her first goodgym group run. Becky is loves to help out at Park Runs in Woking, so some of our other members my recognize her from there. We hope you had a lovely time last night.
**Next week
We will be at Brookwood Train Station - we will be starting a little later as this group run is a little further out of the Center. So we will be starting at 7pm. We will go for a guided Run around Brookwood cemetery to get warmed up - followed by painting of the planters on the platform.

The group met at the RSPCA to clear out the weeds in the dog agility section. We started with a run and some squats (thanks Adam 😊) to warm up. We then tackled the brambles around the edge of the dog agility area which had grown a lot since our last visit. We found plenty of tennis balls in the bushes!
Some of the group went to the pub afterwards for a well earned drink and rest.
This weekend James and Anne are running the Richmond 10k. James is running 100 miles this month to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Wishing Wayne a speedy recovery before the next Brutal race on the 14th.

This evening we headed to Pyrford Church Of England School where we had to tackle a huge bramble bush. We were joined by Rebecca from GG Wandsworth who was in the area for the week. When we saw the bush we had to tackle we thought we had a good few hours of work but with the right tools and James expert gardening knowledge we split up in two teams and tackled the bush from each end. Becky & Harriot scooped up all the brambles that had been cut and disposed them into the skip. A member of the school staff was on site and was amazed how much we done. Refreshing watermelon was provided and it went down a treat. Once we where satisfied with our evening shift we cleared away the tools and headed off the the Anchor along the river for a well deserved drink and some food.
This Sunday Woking Junior Park Run are looking for marshals

7 GoodGym-ers spent a lovely evening tonight doing some sweeping, weeding and raking in the gardens at Brockhill Care Home. Arriving to a note with clues of where to find the tools was a fun way to start the task, alongside some water which was appreciated by those who ran along the canal to get to the mission! We divided and conquered a number of the flower beds and made some great progress - lots of hands make light work!
