Bournemouth Report written by Bournemouth runner
Bournemouth was not a nice place to be today...it was wet and rainy all day....we had 3 tasks cancel and were going to have to be brave and do a litter pick in the miserable weather without litterpickers, things were not looking good at all.....until Ed from Bournemouth Foodbank gave us shelter from the rain!
WE LOVE YOU ED AND BOURNEMOUTH FOODBANK!!!
We ran a different route this evening that took us through the park and around some back roads that made it a little bit more peaceful for the magnificent 7...we also managed to avoid the steep gradient from our usual route....but did not avoid the puddles!!
It was only a fine drizzle when we arrived at Bournemouth Foodbank. It was Lee and Jenna's second time with GoodGym and it was lovely to have them along. Lee has signed up as a new member so we'll get to see lots of him on our group runs, which is great as his story is very interesting! Hopefully GoodGym HQ will get your t-shirt out to you quickly!
I love meeting new people with GoodGym, everyone is completely different and adds so much to the group! Give Lee a big cheer here
Jenna is originally friends with Jenni, but we're hoping she is now all of our's friend! We're glad your netball is in off-season and you two can come and run with us!!! The more the merrier!! Give Jenni and Jenna a cheer and love to help them come back more often!
Ed gave let us know what we would be doing and paired us off into teams. We quickly got on with things and moved with such grace and fluidity that we made those heavy boxes seem like they were filled with feather rather than tins!
As we got out into reality again, suddenly much hungrier than before, it had started to rain a little heavier...which encouraged us to run back that little bit quicker!!
We managed to get back for 8pm...everyone still alive...just about! Caprice still had to run home another 4km!!! Epic! Give her a cheer And I still haven't come across anyone who can beat Neil up the hill back to Flirt! Speed demon!
Well done all of you for coming along and making a difference to Bournemouth. Thank you Daryl for the pun! Now get yourself on the goodgym website, support each other and cheer them on....the person with the most cheers given out at the end of the month will get a prize from me. Go go go!!!
See you all next week!

Meanwhile at Westminster due to a late cancellation we headed down to our dear friend Andrew at Rhythms of Life to help him sort through some clothes for rough sleepers and tidy up an area that is currently being used to store food which is also handed out to rough sleepers.
We met at 615 of Regents Street and as usual by 630 our briefing was done and dusted and we set off in search of a quiet stretch of road in this ridiculous heat.
Weaving in and out of jolly pub goers and sun searchers we hit a nice rhythm on the back streets only stopping for red lights and traffic jams.
We arrived safely and greeted the ever cheerful Andrew with the simple message, "WE are only here for half an hour Andrew" lol. He laughed, gave us a tour of the building and told us what needed to be done.
Move clothes from A-B, move food from A-B and the fun part clean all floors everywhere so thats exactly what we did.
Half an hour later the place smelt like an alpine forest and everything was where it should have been.
He waved us, we did some amazing calf burning activation drills a few sprints in the now beautiful rain and headed back to base just in time for tea. A few stretches and we were out.
Thanks to everyone who came out to play, hopefully see you all next week...
