8 Goodgymers ran 4 KM to paint a converted classroom at Sharrow community centre.
The task
The task facing us tonight was to finish the paint job we started last week at Sharrow community centre. The centre used to be a primary school but now acts as a hub right in the centre of Sharrow in Sheffield.
Once again, Maria, our contact at the centre had left a number of brushes and rollers for the team to use. She had also very kindly left us some refreshments which was very kind.
The team was painting for 45 Minutes before the task was complete. Our team was fantastic once again. The community centre are very, very grateful for all of our work. Thank you.
Before long we were cleaning up and ready to move on
Frozen fitness
We then proceeded back to base where we used the car park at Sheffield United for some relay races. All terrific fun. We threw in some squats and spotty dogs - awesome . We are back out again every single Monday - rain or shine. Same time, same start location. Monday 30th Jan we are meeting at Bramall Lane for our weekly group run which may be doing some work at Abbeydale Picture House TBC. Sign up here

14 Goodgymers ran 4 KM to paint a converted classroom at Sharrow community centre.
The task
The task facing us tonight was to give an old classroom a coat of paint as it is being turned in to a woodworking space as part of Sharrow community centre. The centre used to be a primary school but now acts as a hub right in the centre of Sharrow in Sheffield. Maria, our contact at the centre had left a number of painting weapons and specific instructions for the team to follow. She had also very kindly left us some refreshments which was very kind. The team was painting for 50 Minutes before the task was complete. Many hands…etc Before long we were cleaning up and ready to move on
Run strong, live free
We then proceeded back to base where we used the car park at Sheffield United for some relay races. All terrific fun. The was a bit of ski jumping which rounded off a perfect evening.
We are back out again on Thursday for a taster session. Same time, same start location. Although this is geared up for new members, everyone is welcome and it would be great to have some of the regulars along to help promote our great work. Sign up here

10 Goodgym heroes ventured out on a cold and windy Yorkshire evening to move some fertilizer at Heeley City Farm. Running 5K in total.
Our task was very straight forward and Julie from the farm did a great job in providing us the right tools for the job. Following a brief at the hotel, we gently ran to the task and had a nice chat along the way. The group stayed together as the roads heading South are very busy indeed
Don't be shy. Dig in
Once we had arrived at the farm and dealt out the tools we proceeded to fill a trailer with the mulch kindly donated by the animals. Despite Tim wearing his brand new running shoes, he wasted no time in conquering the mountain in front of him. This task was especially important as the area where the manure is stored is getting really full. The trailer full we moved is to be spread on a remote garden area this week.
Cardio, strength, power
We then moved on to our fitness segment. We started with some hill repeats at an easy pace to wake the muscles up. Once properly warmed up we introduced some speed , working for 30 seconds. Rest. 1 minute. Rest. We then moved on to strength and conditioning followed by explosive power exercises.
Back to base
Once we were suitably worked we took a 10 minute cool down/aerobic run back to GoodGym Sheffield HQ where we stretched and discussed forthcoming tasks.
Next week we are at Sharrow School to do some painting - please wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on. Sign up here
On Saturday we are holding an extra session where we will be digging an allotment. Everyone is welcome. More info here
