A Sign of the GoodGym Stars

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

We visited Wensum Park again to continue the work we started last week.

We finished clearing the 12 star sign flower beds. Some needed old roots digging out, lavender cut back, stones removing and some just a complete turnover of the soil.

They are now pretty much ready to be planted.

Well done everyone, we'll have to return later in the year to see how it has flourished over the summer.

Spring’s Sprung!

Norwich Report written by Liz Kerr

I marshalled at Eaton Junior Parkrun, where there was a good turnout despite the clocks going forward. It was a lovely sunny morning for a run, despite being quite windy.

We Went Some to the Wensum

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

Try and read the title 5 times as quickly as you can

This evening 12 GoodGymers broke their Wensum Park virginity as we visited there for the first time.

Congratulations to Rose for completing her 100th GoodGym deed!

Also a big welcome to Josie who was partaking in her first good deed.

The task in hand was to dig over so unused flowerbeds so they can be planted with new flowers etc.

Each flower bed already has a different star sign stone in front of it, so the plan will be to full it with flowers that relate to each colour in relation to the star sign.

Can spring be far behind?

Norwich Report written by Liz Kerr

I marshalled at Eaton Junior Parkrun on a lovely sunny morning. Having seen lots of boys running past in red and white stripey football shirts we must have been joined by a young football team today, all giving it their best.

Shout out Sunday

Norwich Report written by Liz Kerr

I marshalled at Eaton Junior Parkrun. This week I was positioned at the start. There were seven young runners getting wristbands for their achievements, and I also got a shout out for getting to one hundred Parkrun volunteer credits.

Rock, Paper, Lizards

Norwich Report written by Steven Hitcham

It was a brisk Sunday morning after a sharp frost, but it didn't stop lots of people turning out in Lakenham to help create thriving habitats for lizards.

We welcomed Danni who was taking part in her first GoodGym session.

There were also two other community groups helping at the task: Wild Lakenham and LTC.

The majority of people where cutting back brambles and other areas, while some others did a litter pick.

The morning was finished off with some lovely, well earned refreshments.
