We were joined on our warm up today by Jennie from BBC Radio Bristol who has been presenting some pieces about fun new ways to get fit in Bristol. A few of us gave interviews and Jennie has promised she'll let me know when her recording is broadcast. What with this and our recent Facebook live stream for the evening post we're becoming hot property in the media world at the moment!
Of course its not all glamour and press conferences at Goodgym Bristol, there is also the small matter of getting-fit-by-doing-good so once we had satisfied our public we headed off for todays task to participate in the Great Bristol spring clean by tackling a couple of streets in the Barton Hill area of Bristol.
In order to cover as much ground as possible we split into three groups with one team tackling our allocated area round Maze Street while 'leading lights' Liam and Richard headed up teams to tackle areas alongside Barton Hill academy and a stretch under the railway tunnel on Silverthorne Lane.
We managed to amass a good haul of rubbish including a purse with a design which we felt was a little on the creepy side - judge for yourself from the photos! In all we managed 10 bags or recyclable rubbish and 8 of general rubbish so hopefully the local residents will wake up to slighltly cleaner streets tomorrow.
Back at base, Jack led some warm ups and we congratulated Sally on reaching 50 good deeds. Sally joined us from GG Wandsworth a few months ago but she's become such a lovely regular with us that its already hard to think of GG Bristol without her now!
We finished up with Eats at Burger Theory but Emma wasn't with us so there is sadly no selfie,

Maybe we shouldn't flier from Turbo Island again. Its clearly cursed. One minute its a lovely bright Winters day, the next its sleet and cold rain and improvised plastic bags to protect our precious cargo of leaflets. It was the same story for our HelpfulPeeps record attempt when we met there last year.
Still, after a brief warm-up with some leg swings of celebration following our table-topping Good deed haul in January our main group set out for the Island to make the best of it. The cause was certainly a good one - we were promoting a Warehouse Sale for our good friends Emmaus who help their previously homeless companions back into long term accommodation and employment.
We split into three groups to cover as much ground as possible - big thanks to Jack and Charlie for helping me out by leading theirs. In spite of the adverse conditions we still managed to distribute several hundred leaflets which should help Emmaus to attract lots of customer to raise lots of funds for their vital work.
Meanwhile ...
Since it was such a bitterly cold day Sarah, Maria and Paddy volunteered to take the GG bag of tea and biscuits around the centre of Bristol to offer hot drinks to anyone sleeping rough in the city. They did amazingly well and managed to serve 17 people - even stopping off at Subway so they could refill the flask and get round more people. Great work you three!
A game of Gym Runny
The leaflets and tea delivered, we all met back at Queen Square for a game of fitness cards. Two teams compete with the suit determining the activity and the rank the number of reps. It was close in the end with Georginas team narrowly missing out on 7 cards to Charlies' teams' 8.
And finally, Eats
Its the first Tuesday of the month so we finished the evening with our monthly eats at Sticks and Broth, kindly organised by Maria. Great to have Emma on hand to take the selfie and nice to see her running with us again.
