Lucy, Bozena, Matt and Florence spent Saturday morning helping pack up bags and boxes of Christmas gifts for deprived young people in the Nottingham area. A huge well done for your efforts at this task supporting an amazing charity, Bags of Blessings.
About Bags of Blessings
Carrying Joy, Bringing Hope
We are a charity, local to Nottingham, which distributes donated gifts to deprived young people in the Nottingham area. We put collection boxes in local schools, churches, and businesses, with the request for small, pocket money toys, stationery, books, or items of confectionery. We then sort the donations into age groups, gift wrap each item and put 4 or 5 gifts into a red cotton bag to be distributed to young people aged 0-16 via food banks, homeless and refugee charities or organisations which support disadvantaged children.
We believe that every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas!

It's been a while since we helped out at Sneinton Primary School's allotment, so it was lovely to be back on a sunny Autumn morning for our first task of November. Kathryn met us on arrival and set us to work on various tasks, including litter picking the path, clearing the raised beds and ground of leaves, trimming the lavender (which smelt beautiful!), and cutting back some of the brambles at the back of the allotment.
We were joined by three mini GoodGymers who were a great help until the lure of colouring in took over and a craft station was set up at one of the tables. We also met Waliyah who joined for her first GoodGym task - it was lovely to meet you!

Lucy Burton run a race with GoodGym for the first time.
Lucy has done their first race with GoodGym. Performing on the day is a lot of pressure; Lucy's dealt with the nerves and turned up on the day to make it happen.

Lucy, Robert and Rachel joined hundreds of other early risers at the Run 5.30 event in Nottingham. It was a bit of case of 'where's wally' trying to find each other in the crowd as everyone had to wear the same pink t-shirt, but we all completed the 5k route in good time and were treated to a high five from Nottingham legend and paralympian, Richard Whitehead, at the finish line (see photo of Lucy!).
