We had a lovely evening returning to helping Recyke Y Bike, an amazing organisation in the east end of Newcastle. I was joined by Aimee, Sara, Neil and Rae.
It was my 140th good deed tonight which felt very good.
Recyke Y Bike rely on volunteers so they really appreciated our help tonight to prepare for getting back up and running again
Jobs completed in just one hour (which is very impressive) included:
Hopefully we will be back again very soon!

Since the Easter weekend is actually starting tomorrow I thought I would re-egg-splore some egg puns for today’s report! As you can see from the photos, the generosity of the people of Newcastle is egg-straordinary so the East End Women’s foodbank has been able to distribute around 1000 chocolate eggs to their r-egg-ular clients and lots of others too. Sara and I joined the regular volunteers today and after Sara helped with veg bag packing she then joined me in stacking the shelves - take a look at the before and after photos! It was great egg-cercise and very satisfying to see the shelves filled. For egg-sample there’s now plenty of sweet corn, lentils, tomatoes, beans and rice pudding! It’s no eggs-aggeration to say we were eggs-hausted by the end of the session! I hope you all manage at least some relaxation over the holiday weekend!

Wow!
If you haven't been to East End Women foodbank for a while you are in for a big surprise. We, along with the army of other regular volunteers, have made a huge difference by putting up and stacking shelves throughout the two storage rooms. Finding items and packing is so swift and today was as fun as ever.
Sara had already made a start when I arrived and was unpacking and counting huge trays of tins in the small storage area. I was put on milk duty- moving, unpacking and stacking around 100 cartons of milk. I started off by carrying the crates of milk and moved them to a trolley when I realised a) my upper body strength is not adaptable from weights to dairy products and b) I am clumsy and therefore a liability.
I moved on to packing food parcels while Sara cleared a huge area of the store room with expert unpacking.
You can finally get moo-ved in there now!

Wednesday's favourite duo did another amazing job at East End Women foodbank this week!
We helped to install and stock shelves last week and thanks to more generous donations, there was plenty for Max and Sara to get involved in this week too. Max arrived (braving the switch back to cold weather!) on his bike while Sara did a bus and walk combo.
The unstoppable pair of GoodGymers helped to stock cars going out on deliveries as well as making sure the shelves were fully stocked and organised for the days ahead.
Great work!
