We started off this week by celebrating loads of brilliant running over the weekend: Freyja, Tim and Emma ran 10-miles in wet and windy Liverpool and Paul, Phil and Frances ran the half marathon - including a massive PB for Frances. Top work by Team Liverpool! On home turf, Michael took part, Victoria ran her first ever half and David smashed his PB target as well in the Big Half. Well done for all showing up despite sore legs and recovery!
We also celebrated Phil's 50th and Ruth's 100th good deed - WOWEEE!
This week we were helping out our lovely home, Papa's Park. We did a deep clean of their indoor hall, planted some bulbs and did a spot of weeding. This was combined with some 1-mile reps and a fitness session. Shout out to Freyja and Tom B who got all Art Attack on us by creating a FIVE out of bits of essential GoodGym equipment.

Pancake Day!! 🥞
Tonight featured an absolute feast of tasks! This was GoodGym 101 featuring:
Does it get more GoodGym than this???
Team Lambeth were in high spirits despite the changeable weather when we set off - one group taking a short run direct to our tasks and one group taking a longer 5k option.
We went to Loughborough Farm where a small group stayed to give them a hand. And the rest of us borrowed a wheelbarrow and headed round the corner to the Grove Adventure Playground, an awesome and colourful outdoor play area.
Victoria had this to say about the small Farm group:
Eight was the magic number of goodgymmers it took to fill a planter down at Loughborough Farm. Shovel, barrow and good chat teams worked together and got the job 70% done. Joke, the job was to fill it 70% full so, that's a wrap. The veggies will be moving into their new home for Spring.
Smashed it.
Those of us who went to Grove split into groups; some shifting some delightful-smelling wood chip to underneath the swings and slides, some cleaning the inside of the community centre and some doing a litterpick around the outside.
When the place was looking spick and span, we dropped the wheelbarrow back round the corner at the farm and headed back to PAPA’s for PANCAKES.
Props to;
Ace work team 💪
Next week we're helping out at our home - PAPA's Park! Sign up HERE.

Another lovely sunny June evening and - as the last Tuesday of the month - the evening kicked off with the Shit Prize of the Month (SPOTM) award. This month Lavinia was awarded the coveted prize, which this month consisted of a Sky reusable mug with the phrase "Plastic is not fantastic." Not only does Lavinia now possess a truly unique and remarkable mug that will be the envy of all her friends, she can also save 50p when ordering a hot beverage from many popular coffee outlets across the length of Britain. CONGRATS!
The whole group headed 1.5km to Myatt's Field park. We met Helen, who is the park manager. She had lots of jobs for us and we started off with a nice history lesson. It turns out this lovely Victorian park was designed by Fanny Wilkinson - yes that's right, THE Fanny Wilkinson, one of the first professional women landscape gardeners and an active campaigner for women’s suffrage - you know the one. Hooray.
How great that a Victorian lady designed this park! Said everyone.
Helen was very organised and had A LIST, which we all deeply approved of. She split the group into 4. Group 1 went to disentangle some very tangly bindweed from some lovely lavender plants.
This is the best smelling task I have ever done! Said Tess, as she stood amidst the lavender.
Group 2 had lots of mops and buckets and wipey things and they cleaned a beautiful Victorian glass house from top to bottom. Group 3 pruned some roses that were quite dead and didn't have any leaves left on them and did some weeding.
I think you mean PETALS! Said Lucy.
Yes we did mean petals - and for all your other gardening needs, just ask Lucy. Group 4 took to the park armed with litter pickers and bags and did a huge clean up. Sadly in the summer months many people choose to enjoy the free space of the park but leave it in a right old mess after. Great work to the team for sorting it out but really, come on people, tidy up after yourselves!
After this we all took part in the GoodGym Olympics 1km challenge. JKB designed a pattern within the park and the rest did a speedy lap around the outside. There was some really good running and impressive times. Well done everyone. And with that it was back to Papa's for stretches then home.

Shalyn Wilkins visited the isolated older person that they're paired with 10 times now.
Shalyn has visited an isolated older person during their run 10 times now. It sounds like they've made friends. This is likely to have made a huge difference to the life of the older person. Isolation and loneliness are crippling for many; a friendly face visiting regularly can change someone's whole outlook on life.
