Bournemouth Report written by Bournemouth runner
This time we came prepared! Extra layers, more friends....and Neil even wore running tights! Flyer drops will never be the same and they will always be compared to this one!
Abi brought along some lovely friends to help us turbo through the flyer drop and they were brilliant! It was great to meet Caroline, Phoebe, Ryan and Kelvin and also nice to see Maria again. We really hope you guys come back again!
It was also great to have Lee come and join in on his first group run, and he really held his own. Although he is more of a cyclist he also found out he was a great runner too! Great effort! Hope to see you next week!
We ran to Boscombe taking over the promenade and enjoyed the sounds of the waves and catching up with those we hadn't seen recently. Getting to Bournemouth pier was only part of the challenge as when we got there we had to still make it up the steep climb to where we were starting the drop....it was a great push and everyone managed to do it without walking. Very impressive!
We split into two groups and tackled the roads and met up at the end of each and regrouped to another area. It was perfectly synchronised and it really helped that there wasn't a horrible chilly wind tonight....and I'm not sure if it was just me but there were a lot less letter boxes with those difficult draught protectors! Yessssss!!
We managed to drop over 500 flyers and when we ran out of them we decided to head back to our start point and on our way back we did a big Indian file to push ourselves a little.
The team were great and we really hope Abi's great drawing event is a huge success and the children in the area have a great time.
Well done everyone....next week's run lands on Valentines day! Make sure you come along as we'll be indoors and back for 8pm!

First of all, it was great to welcome Emily on her first group run with us! And considering she hasn't run in a while she was great! And she is lovely, so we really hope you come along next week too!
We were very excited to head to Bournemouth Foodbank for our group run this week. they had a lot of food donations that they had received over Christmas and needed them to be organised by date, type of food and sorted accordingly.
Ed is a great guy and he explained to each team what they needed to do and why, which gave everyone that extra bit of purpose to do what they were doing well.
One team of Will, Abi, Ema and Ross were in one section grouping food into types, then those boxes were taken to another room where Caprice, Daryl and Andrea sorted them by date first, and then into categories such as vegetarian friendly boxes, meat containing sauces, pasta, and tomato sauces. One item had us in a almost heated discussion.....a Marmite pot made of chocolate...I was intrigued....Ross was not hahahahaha....
On the other side of the counter Andy and Emily were in charge of sorting food that was going out of date sooner and needed to be used.
Neil had most dangerous job....and I'm glad I didn't have to fill out an accident report...he was in charge of the guillotine...cutting precise labels so they could go on the boxes.
There was so much food that we weren't able to finish, unlike last time. It's a shame but it does mean we are going to have to go back! YAY!
We ran back a more scenic route....some tree roots forcing us to change paths unfortunately, but it was still nice running through the park surrounded by trees and then back through the gardens and up a steep hill where Andy and Neil sprinted to the top!! Awesome effort!! And we love Abi's new shoes! She was floating and gliding this evening!
On Saturday we will be doing an extra task to help out at the Fernheath Play area, another great community project. It is a longer run, but we will be taking it easy and meeting some at Coy Pond at 9:15am to shorten the distance. Great opportunity to get some extra km and good deeds in for our January Challenge! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!
Well done everyone! See you Saturday or next week!

Westminster Report written by Joel Wiles
6 wind swept GoodGymers sliced through Westminster to deliver 500 leaflets for Open Ages Christmas Bonanza!!
Checking out the Winter Wonderland and a using the last embers of light to zip through Hyde Park as we made our way 3.5k to Hallfield Estate.
Splitting up into 2 groups we made amazing time as we dashed up and down the stairs delivering leaflets at a crazy pace. Added keeping warm motivation for the increase in speed. Some brilliant team work allowed us to deliver to 12 blocks two of which where 10 floors high!
With the Open Age Bonanza well and truly promoted we picked up the pace on the way back to back speedily navigating through the hordes of Christmas shoppers and Wonderland thrill seekers to get back for a stretch out in the almost tropical New Balance store!
Next week is the last of 2017 so be great to spread the GoodGym spirt one last time this years we go to One Big Family.
If you are free on Friday why not come along to the GoodGym Christmas Party in Battersea Arts Centre, all information here.
Have a great week

3 GoodGymers ran 6k and delivered 300 leaflets for both DAWS (Drug and Alcohol Wellbeing Service) and Prospect Burma.
With temperatures similar to those found in the Arctic only the very bravest GoodGymers made it out this evening!!
Heading south down to Pimlico to meet Helena at the Prospect Burma offices we collected a stack of leaflets promoting the fundraising Christmas Carol Service at St James the Less Church on the 12th of December.
Combining with DAWS’s leaflets to promote where people who need to can access help for Drug and Alcohol dependency issues in Westminster.
We navigated around the estates in the Pimlico and Victoria areas delivering at a top rate especially in the cold conditions. With 40 minutes of delivering under our belts and 300 leaflets down we headed back up the Central London slope to the New Balance store to warm and and refuel and a night of hardy Volunteering!!
Hope to see a few more of Westminsters finest next week!!
Have a great week!
