Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gill (She/her)
There were limited ingredients in the food surplus, but what we did have was two crates of sweet potatoes that Gill had collected at the weekend. So she was soon helping Dean to count out 100 potatoes to get roasted for the main course. Martin was keen to put together a tasty topping to turn them into loaded jackets. While the two continued with the cooking Sam arrived for her first FoodCycle task and only her second GoodGym task. We were so pleased to welcome her to the kitchen crew. She had opted to be the pot washer and so spent most of the evening up to her elbows in washing up water. She did a fabulous job. We had 46 guests to feed and another 7 takeaways, but we git everything out on time and there were lots of empty plates and positive feedback from many if our guests.
Great work team, it is much appreciated.
FoodCycle use food that would otherwise go to waste and put on a free social dinner for anyone who wants to come along, whether hungry or lonely, they welcome everyone to come for dinner and meet other people
