St John's Lye Woodland

Todays task was the first of three Goodgym x WWF Workout In Nature tasks.

This morning Wayne, Anne, Luan, & Rebecca were joined by Lizeth from WWF on her first task (Big Welcome Lizeth) 😊

Wayne & Luan came staright from junior park run, while Anne ran to the task along the canal. Rebecca who is currently training for a mammoth bike ride up in Scotland cycled to the task to get some extra training in 🚲. We all met at the car park where Hayden from We Act 🌍 went through the risk assessment then Charlie went through what we were going to do, which was clear an area to expose the soil to see if it was good enough to grow some wild flowers 🌹.

We all set off along the scenic route deep into the woods (1O Min Walk) We arrived at a clearing which we cleared a few weeks ago. with a string we marked the area by creating a border and with tools in hand we started to turn over the soil. It was tough as there were many roots but we soon made light work of it.

Lizeth was really get stuck in and was really enjoying the task as was Luan who loves an outdoor task 😊. Rebecca was telling us about the up coming GG Shindig in the Midlands which will be her 2nd year going cant wait to hear all about it.

In no time we had cleared the area and planted the wild lowers these will be monitored by We Act 🌍 over the coming months.

Hopefully we will see more of Lizeth at more GG Tasks 😊
