2, Also congratulations to Nadia & Andy who got engaged recently. The rock ๐ on Nadia finger was very impressive (Another GG Wedding to look forward to ๐.
3, It was also GG Woking's 9th Birthday. For 9 years Goodgym Woking have now been helping and supporting local organisations within the community. Over the last few years Woking GG has grown. We have new members like Luan, Caterina, & Andy as well as others join. We now have 4 run leaders with Nadia completing her run leader training this year. She now joins Wayne, Anne, Adam, & James.
Task force members have also increased with Kirsty joining the force along side Katie and others ๐. And we are also very lucky to have Rebecca who is on the board of trusties who keeps us in the loop with whats happening within HQ ๐.
Woking GG is thriving and going from strength to strength. A fantastic kind, caring group of people who enjoy doing good in the community and supporting each other.

Fabulous to see everyone looking glam and in a pub rather than our usual red tshirts cleaning floors!

Woking Report written by Luan (She/Her)
This morning at GoodGym we decided to divide and conquer as there were a number of tasks to complete, and so I went with the Biodiversity task with WEAct Woking!
Meeting at the designated location after parking at St Johnโs Lye car park the guys and I got to work.
It has been said that the Laurel was planted around the Victorian age as it was then fashionable to cover the forest floor but was not indigenous. Removing it in modern day times enables more plant life to grow up through it! On some occasions WEAct has planted wild flowers over whatever has been removed.
The guys gave me a pair of lopers and some gloves and we worked to reduce a huge pile of Laurel that had already been cut. This was then put into a large stack to be removed later.
Leaving at break time the guys offered me some coffee and biscuits ๐ช but I only asked if they could take some photos for me for this report. They continued to work after I left, there is so much to remove that this task could have gone on all day ๐
Thanks guys see you next time!

Our mission Owl Box Installation๐ฆ & Maintenance Of Existing Boxes (St John's Lye) Woking.
It was another Biodiversity task, so for me (Luan) I jumped into action this Saturday morning; our mission was sooo interesting and cool!
Meeting with first Wayne and then Kirsty (two of my most favourite positive and encouraging members) in the carpark everyone was in good spirits! Working with members of WEAct we had 3 Owl Boxes to replace and 1 that in the end was just inspected and maintained (loads of foliage was removed from it). Using our map of St John's Lye, see picture attached the boxes were placed strategically around the area.
The boxes were already made for us to put up, but we had to add or nail in a perch onto them first, the biggest challenge finding the right tree and then, it was a man's kind of job to drill the boxes into the trees up ladders. The girls helped by carrying kit around the location and clearing all nails from older boxes that could then be left to biodegrade.
So much fun!
Thanks Everyone :-)

What a fantastic turn out for the mission at Woking Foodbank as 13 GoodGymers turned up to do a deep clean. The Foodbank is one of our regular and most popular missions where we usually clean the floors and wipe the surfaces. But Kirsty had the great idea to do a deep clean of all the shelves and fridge etc. Because there were so many of us it didn't take too long and we ended the evening with the traditional photo on the staircase. A massive cheer to Rob and Stephanie for their second mission with Woking GoodGym and to Julie for reaching 50 good deeds. We can't wait to see you in the black t-shirt Julie. Also a massive well done to Luan who ran non-stop from the Foodbank back to the meeting point at the leisure centre after a break in running. You are officially a runner now Luan.
