This session happened as part of the Blue Earth Summit which was happening in Woolwich this week. It was exciting to hear lots of ideas about how to make our cities sustainable and then to go and be part of making it happen by running along the Thames to Christchurch School Community garden. its has been transformed from and empty plot to a vibrant green space with fruit trees, vegetable growing and dead hedges and is used by the school to run forest schools. We were part of the annual process of cutting back and bagging up the brambles. Marta, Patrick, Fiona and I worked hard to cut and back the brambles that were already loose and then hacked down a new section by the fence. An hour or so later the place was looking a lot tidier and there's more room for planting and forest school.
