SESSION ORGANISER

Report written by Michal Czekajlo
Six, because we are so good at it.
When we arrived on Woodthorpe Green the festival was still in full swing.
Victoria, one of the organisers, asked us to start with folding three large tables which were then to be rolled to a nearby address where they will be kept for next year's event.
While this was taking place another volunteer went to his house to bring litter pickers and bags for us to use. The litter picking part of the task involved walking around the field and collecting assortment of plastic drink and food packaging dropped by festival goers.
What followed was folding a gazebo challenge. As can be seen on the attached photos we did not leave anyone behind and the whole team got involved. The second gazebo was expertly folded by three local resident volunteers and Debs. I stood and watched and am certain that my positive presence helped them to achieve the task significantly.
The last job of the day was taking the above mentioned gazebos, some plastic crates and cardboard boxes to another volunteer house. That person went back to the green and trusted us with closing her garage door after depositing all the items inside. By trial and error Leanne mastered the lock/unlock fob operation and achieved full garage door closure in a very good time.
Our work was done after that
We barely scratched the surface - Michael
And we headed back to our homes to enjoy the rest of this glorious afternoon.
We hold various events throughout the year, the biggest one being the Woodthorpe Fun Day.
