Report written by Adam
Getting into the swing of things, I headed out for for an early warm up by stretching the legs before getting to the leisure center. As I got there a bit early, I went straight into the leisure center and grabbed an espresso to energise for the session ahead. Once I finished the caffeine boosting drink and went out to see who had arrived, Anne was happily waiting there as Alys and Katie arrived. We were all catching up with who we all were at Nadia arrived, saying she still felt a bit jet-lagged!! Anne started us on a warm up, with nice arm rotations to warm the shoulders up and then we moved into the ankles and legs. She clarified our session while we were all still warming up, saying a good warm up around the park as we had towards the hill of Ashwood Road. We all put our lights on and took a gentle run, the long way around the park so that we could all warm up well before reaching Ashwood Road. Once there we discussed the interval session where a 250 meter distance run up the road to where an off-junction is and then back down. So agreeing to run up and down six times covering around 3km would be a really good session. We started at our own pace so it wasn't long before we started spreading out, passing each other going up and coming down. Having a recovery time of 1 to 2 minutes depending on the effort people were running at it want to long before we could all take it easy completing the six reps. To ensure a good recovery we all took a nice slow run back to the park. Making sure we were all clearing any lactic acid that may have built up. Doing some lunges and then doing heel touches together with heels to bums we were all feeling much more relaxed. Wishing everyone good luck and to have fun on tomorrow's task at Woking food bank.
