K&S Electrical Services had an early appointment on Saturday to plug in Ms A's washing machine. Apparently she was a morning person. Why it was left unplugged was a mystery, but now it was full of washing, it needed to be pulled out, plugged in and powered on.
The 8:30am booking was to coincide with when Ms A's carer visited. There was no response when knocking the door and no sign of the carer. After some phone calls to the care coordinator, K&S were told that the carer was moments away. That set off a game of "is this Ms A's carer?" each time someone came down the road. It wasn't the man with the suitcase on their way to the airport, nor the delivery cyclist heading back to their distribution hub. Eventually, after a few wrong guesses, the carer arrived.
Once inside, Kash & Sevan pulled the appliance out from under the worktop, then Sevan - who had the longest arms - reached behind the washing machine to push the plug into its socket. Simple.
Now the big moment. Did the washing machine work? Well, maybe. Sevan pushed the power button and nothing happened. After a couple more tries, Ms A's carer explained that the electricity had been cut off, so they'd only know if the washer was working in a few days.
