Report written by Laura
Tonight we had to split the group in two but we missed being part of a full group!
Helen, Amy, Alan & I did leafletting for Headingley Development Trust. We were promoting both Headingley Greengrocers & the Natural Foodstore. These are community run shops, funded by the Development Fund.
The rest of the group headed up to Rainbow Junction at All Hallows Church. We had a quick jog there, met Jules and Saul and then started working on digging up a hilly patch that they want to turn into tiered veggie plots. We were each armed with a mattock and got digging - it was a great work out. Lauren also had a go on the streamer to clear some of the longer grass - which she said gave her flash backs to earning her pocket money. Then thankfully the sunset reminded us that we should probably be heading again and we jogged back again.
We're looking forward to getting the gang back together next week, but thanks all for chipping in.
We are a Community Benefit organisation based in Headingley. We operate the Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre (HEART), the Headingley Greengrocer shop, a monthly Headingley Farmers Market and various other projects including a Community Orchard, the Zero Carbon Headingley group, and a monthly Cafe Scientifique amongst other things
