Too early for a Christmas pun? 😉

Tonight we were sneaking around the streets of Sydenham on the lookout for stray trees that didn't quite make it to the treecycling spots. It's a weird task, but good that we were able to tidy the streets and make them a little bit safer.

Closing Time

Our first challenge tonight was hanging out in the cold. Turns out it was the Bridge House's staff xmas party so they'd rightfully shut up shop so they could celebrate. No matter - we GoodGymmers are a reasonably hardy bunch.

Fresh blood.

It was nice to have a couple of new faces to the gang: Rosie and Sinead it was really great to meet you and have you along!

We're going on a tree hunt.

We hit the road and when we got to the corner of Mayow Park where the trees could be left we split into two teams. Who would find the most trees? Steve, Sinead and Rosie headed to the left side of the park whilst Clare, Cat, Nick and I went scouring over the right side.

We had mixed luck and after 40 minutes we met back with our quarry. Steve & co. were pretty unlucky and found one lonely tree. My team found 5 so overall a good haul.

6 trees, 7km and a whole loada woodchip for the local parks.

Nice work gang!

Next Monday we're ploughing on with one of our most fun tasks - clearing out the old water tower! - sign up here.
