Only 3 out of the 7 Goodgymers who had signed up for this community mission made it! Wayne, James and Anne were really surprised to see the state of our allotment when they arrived…. With the fantastic weather we have had this last month, the whole plot was green…. not with envy though, but mostly weeds!
We still managed to clear a row so we could plant cucumbers and pumpkins as per Holly’s instructions.
Would it be a good idea to try and organise two community missions/week while the vegetables are growing? We could carry on with the missions already planned and also keep the allotment tidy. Please, do let us know what you think.
The crop of rhubarb was plentiful: we can already smell the crumble!
Let us wish the very best to the two super heroes, Wayne and James, who will conquer a 10K BRUTAL in Winchester this coming Saturday. We cannot wait to admire the medals!
See you all, either this coming Sunday in Woking park to help with junior parkrun or next Wednesday to do planting and painting at Heathside Care home. In the meantime, happy running!
