Report written by Rachel Levick
It was a rare Monday night task for GoodGym Nottingham last night as Peter, Tom and Rachel took to the streets to help promote the Windmill Community Garden’s annual Pumpkin Day.
The task had been postponed from Saturday when the weather was not very pleasant, but we had a lovely mild and dry evening, perfect for delivering leaflets into doors around the roads adjacent to the community gardens.
We didn’t take a count, but we worked through a decent pile of leaflets between us and Peter even managed to get the staff at the David Lloyd health club and a local newsagents to take some to display for their customers.
The Pumpkin Day is an annual event celebrating all things autumnal and pumpkin-related – apple pressing, fancy dress, pumpkin carving, foraging, games and more. We have two GoodGym tasks running on Sunday 27th October to help set up and tidy away this event – if you are free on Sunday and fancy helping out, please sign up!
