Who this task will support
West End Refugee Service (WERS)
West End Refugee Service (WERS) is a registered charity that provides support and opportunities to people seeking asylum and refugees on Tyneside. We work to bring about positive change to the lives of people whose futures have been irrevocably changed by past events in their home country. Since 1999, we have delivered a range of integrated services to reduce levels of poverty, isolation, disadvantage and prejudice experienced by the people we support, as they navigate the asylum system in the UK. Our projects aim to help people regain control over their lives and rebuild a future here. We’re a team of thirteen staff and over 90 volunteers. We work with partners across the region to deliver our projects and services.

Come and join us as we visit West End Refugee Service (WERS) and tidy up their garden. Storm Éowyn left its mark, so there is plenty to do!

Please bring your own gardening gloves if you have them, all other tools and equipment will be provided on the day.

Meeting point is at One Strawberry Lane, from 6pm for a 6:15pm start. There will be running, walking and cycling options. West End Refugee Service is just over a kilometre away from our meeting point.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
