Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Wowsers! 21 runners completed a 6(and a bit..ok nearly 7 according to strava)km run to Boston Manor Park to do some deadheading, garden tidying and a nice bodyweight workout!
It all started at home base aka Bodyline Studios. As it was the launch we kicked off with a couple of words from Barbara Tilley, CEO of AgeUK.. She said there are 50 coaches (older people) waiting to be paired up if anyone is interested in this let me know!
There were several runners new to GoodGym so welcome to (in no particular order) Mike, Heather, Chris, Anna, Bryony, Rebecca, Lara, Helena, Catherine, Leanne, Jan and Michael!!
We then set off on our way through the parks! Walpole Park, Lammas Park, straight to Boston Park. It was parkarama! On arrival the lovely Linda was there and got us straight into the dead heading. This was a brand new concept to me and not nearly as sinister as it sounded!
Half the group got stuck in whilst the other half took part in a super amazing wonderful partner competition! We did high five squats, high five planks, high five bear crawls AND high five burpees. There were a good 500 high fives in the space of 20 minutes...oh and sprints!! Everyone did a superb effort.
When all the gardening was done and the beautiful flower beds were looking even beautifuller, some runners chose to do a few casual 7min 30s minute mile paced laps around Lammas Park. You guys!! Amazing. And the rest of us took it easy completing a massive 6(and a bit)kms back to Bodyline. All in all an amazing task, an amazing evening with some really excellent people who smashed the run. I hope to see you all again sometime soon! It was an absolute pleasure.
