19 runners turned up to GoodGym this evening, eager to get fit, do good and add another good deed to their name!

GoodGym is the best place to be on a Tuesday evening in Cardiff, arguably the world! Gillian visited Wales from all the way from London to join in the GoodGym run - We salute you. We also had Emily join us for her first ever GoodGym run - this is AWESOME! Sue was presented with her birthday badge, 30 again ey Su ;) Happy Birthday! WOOOO. Well done to Lucy who ran a half marathon on the weekend and Ben who ran a parkrun PB.

As the task was quite far away this evening the warm up was kept short and Mikey led the speedy runners towards the task and Ben led the runners who wanted to run at a more graceful pace. The run there was fun and exhilarating, crossing some of the busiest road in Cardiff and holding squats until the green man showed us that it was safe to cross.

Welcome GoodGym to the YMCA retail store on Colchester Avenue

Matt, who was this week's task organiser from the YMCA, greeted us with the warmest of welcomes. He let us know about the fantastic work they do at the YMCA - Click here to read about the YMCA - which motivated us to get stuck straight into the task (by this time Darren had already started trying on hats and was giggling to himself). Our task this week was to put clothes from 4 donation bins onto hangers and then onto clothes railings ready for them to be put out for sale.

Task antics included Darren wearing 3 hats, Andrew finding a dress that he is considering purchasing, Peter and Mikey both finding a pair of knickers, Emily pretended to sell items as if she was a presenter on QVC, Su looking through the stock at the YMCA deciding on what she is going to spend her birthday monies on and Sue reminiscing on her first ever run which was to the YMCA last year!

The riddle of the run - The return

I’m often running yet I have no legs. You need me but I don’t need you. What am I? click here for the answer

and my bad jokes... my friend with no shins was called 'Tony' and my friend with a fake toe was called 'Roberto'.

"Thank you GoodGym for all of your help - You have been amazing support"

After helping out for 30 miinutes and completing the task, Matt thanked us all for our efforts and informed us that he had already messaged the boss of the YMCA about us and he loves that we have been able to help out. We then had a quick group photo and thanked Matt for giving us a reason before running back together as one group to Big Moose where we started the evening's run.

Well done Emily and Gillian who both ran with GoodGym Cardiff for their first time this evening. We would LOVE to have you come back running with us again soon.

It was then time to head to the Glassworks for the mission workshop and to celebrate Su's birthday - It's party time!!

Don't forget...
