After such a soggy day, it was heartening to see 9 brave souls turn up at the Bridge House meeting point.
Louise and Linda gave us an update on the community mission they went along to at the weekend - just one flower bed is no mean feat when the flower bed is that big! We also realised that today marked Hannah's 99th good deed - we look forward to celebrating your 100th with you next time!
We did a quick warm up, before setting off to tackle the long, slow uphill drag to St John the Evangelist. Helen and Jenny met us there, and set us to task with two weeding jobs - either clearing the vegetable plots, or creating a path alongside the wall. Turns out that a challenge is the best way to get a bunch of GoodGymers weeding with gusto, so I set two groups off at either end of the wall, to see whether they could meet in the middle before our time at the task was up - it certainly worked as they made it through!
Well done on an absolutely cracking task today everyone!
Thankfully, every long, slow uphill drag has an equally long but fast downhill reward and we were soon back in Crystal Palace Park for a warm down. Given the soggy ground, we used a small section of wall for some AMRAP upper body exercises - sorry everyone, that was probably a bit mean after all that weeding!
