Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
What a brilliant turnout for Goodgym Bexley this evening. Massive Hi 5 ๐๐ป welcome to Joe, Cheryl, Peter and Kate for getting their Goodgym journies started. If was great having you along. After a crazy warm up we headed out to our favourite Greenwich and Bexley Hospice Shop that we have been helping to refurb over the last few months. Susan looked after the front runners, whilst I looked after the middle and back. Like a big red caterpillar we weaved our way down Welling high street till we reached our destination. Greeted with a welcome water and a big smile from Mandy we quickly organised ourselves into 3 separate groups. Group 1 = the painters. Group 2 = the sorters. Group 3 = the taggers and hangers. I'm really proud to report that we turned into a very well oiled production line of awesomeness ๐ After 40 minutes of Goodgym Bexley magic, we had one painted kitchen wall, sorted through over 6 bags of donated clothing, tagged and hung all the children's clothing that needed doing. After more refreshments (thanks Mandy) and our mandatory photo shoot of a job well done we were off. This time only as far as our local football club. Yep, Welling football club is the home of our sit off challenge. Oh but this go tougher than our usual sit off. How I hear you ask? Well we stepped it up to one leg sit off. Oh, the moaning was just music to my ears ๐ ๐ But with the encouragement from all the car horn blowing, and words of praise from passers by, you guys smashed it. Up and running again I really couldn't leave the upper body out so it was on to the next wall for our tricep dips, oh and then on to the next wall for some press ups, oh then all topped up with a sprint to the finish line that we call home. Crooklog sports centre. This is our time to reflect on our task, talk through our running diaries and races. Big shout out to ๐๐ปSarah ๐๐ปfor becoming our social media girl, and first member of our Bexley task team. Thank you. I really hoped you all enjoyed yourselves and look forward to running and tasking with you all again next week, so make sure you sign up. ๐
