Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
A record-breaking 22 runners came along to GoodGym York to edge gravestones!
We welcomed no less than SEVEN new runners to the GG York gang before warming up ballet-style (I'm taking suggestions for the warm up theme!).
With Leanne back-marking, we headed over to George Street park which is where the infamous highwayman and horse thief, Dick Turpin, is buried. There are several gravestones in the park which needed to be tidied up to preserve the memories.
'Keeper' of the park, Iain, met us at the gate with a van full of tools. Armed with spades, edgers, litter pickers and wheelbarrows, the team quickly dispersed, creating a hive of activity. Apart from Karen who found some dog poo, everyone managed to stay relatively clean.. but not for long.
In just 30 minutes, every grave had been edged to perfection, holes in the path had been filled, leaves raked and gathered and all the litter had been cleared. So, how did we celebrate such a good job done? With step reps up Clifford's Tower of course! I only heard a couple of tiny groans but I know everyone secretly loved it.
We then made our way across to Tower Gardens where we had brilliant fun doing some very challenging partner exercises which involved a bit of crawling around in the dirt and we followed that with some lunges (obviously).
We headed back to Premier Inn where we tested our balance before having a nice stretch out. It was great to see so many new faces tonight and we hope to see you all again.
Remember it's our massive task next week so come along and bring your friends!
