In a spirited display of community camaraderie, members of the local GoodGym chapter gathered at the Phoenix Cinema for a charitable run to support the East Finchley Food Bank.

The event saw the participation of three new runners, who quickly integrated into the group. Phil Lucinda Sanchita give them a cheer! The participants convened in the cinema's foyer, sharing conversations and anticipation for the day's activities. Under dry cool skies, they moved outside for a series of gentle warm-up routines.

Dividing into two groups, the event catered to both runners and walkers. Daniel, a dedicated cyclist and leader, guided the walkers while the rest of the group took to the High Street. Throughout the route, the runners paused for occasional exercises, maintaining a lively pace and ensuring that everyone stayed energized. Despite their different paces, both groups synchronized their arrival at the food bank.

At the East Finchley Food Bank, Anna welcomed the participants, opening the hall for them to deposit their donations. In her warm address, Anna expressed gratitude for the community's support. Daniel followed with an informative speech about a local estate's pilot on Universal Basic Income (UBI) initiative, sparking interest among the attendees.

On their return journey, the group took a scenic detour through Coldfall Woods, allowing time to enjoy the natural surroundings and engage in forest bathing. This brief interlude offered a serene contrast to the bustling High Street.

Back at the Phoenix Cinema, the participants concluded the event with a thorough warm-down and refreshments. The gathering provided an opportunity for reflection on the day's efforts and the valuable knowledge shared by the speakers.

The event underscored the power of community action, blending fitness with philanthropy. Participants left with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed commitment to supporting local initiatives.
