The sun was shining and its couldnt have been a more perfect day to throw wellies in the local park.

The activities started with the classic egg and spoon race - eggs where subbed with spuds, so we were super vegan friendly - and wooden spoon, so plastic free no less.

As we worked through the events, 3 legged race, pickup the potatoes with littler pickers ( that old classic), the very dizzy obstacle race with eco-friendy carrot baton... all the old school fav's. By this point a clear winner was steaming ahead.

But the final event had yet to take place, with all to play for it was down to the wellie wanging. 5 points left in the game and 5 point needed for TEAM DARWIN to take the win. A strong start by STEVE who had clearly practiced from last years less than ideal throws. 3 WINS on the trot. then one stray wang and the chance of a win was out of TEAM DARWINs reach. FINAL THROW; all to play for, ANNIE v HELEN, Helen goes first.... oh dear... a miss throw and the wellie skids along the floor just a couple of meters. ANNIES up, takes time to compose herself - a gentle toss and shes save it for a draw.

WELL DONE TO ALL WHO TOOK PART.

Hats off the CHRIS, the biggest wang of the day... his wellie went the furthest!

Medals awarded. Social curry and drinks followed.

Happy Steve's wang wasn't longer than mine this year. Disappointed Chris's was. Will work on length throughout the year
