It was time for the first Cardiff Junior Parkrun of 2023!

The grey clouds were gathering when Michael and I met at the start line. The volunteers assembled looking nervously at the skies High vis and lanyards collected, we headed to our positions.

I got the fun job of marshalling at the final corner encouraging everyone to keep going until the end. My highlight was the little girl who finished before sprinting back to the finish straight to cheer for her little sister!

Meanwhile, Michael was on scanning duties - nervously hoping it uploaded properly!

90 runners took part and volunteering made me remember how much fun it is to see children taking part! A great start to Junior Parkrun 2023 and the rain held off too!
