What a lovely sunny 🌞 morning! Not!!! Lol. Although the sun did shine for a little while.
I was marshal point Saracens Head Pub, around mile 6 i think?! All runners were in great spirits and I must say a lovely friendly bunch glad to be at an actual race I think 😁
Many were jealous of my great position outside the pub and kept asking for pints😅
I was well looked after by the landlady at the pub who supplied me with a bacon roll and coffee and a comfort break. I've now found a lovely new pub for Sunday lunch at some point that I never knew existed 😁
Well done to all the runners today was a pleasure to marshall and to the Goodgymers taking part.
Was a bit sceptical on how it would be with covid but throughly enjoyed getting back out helping 😁
Report from Elizabeth
The rain fell but it didn’t dampened our Goodgym enthusiasm as Rebecca (and Emry) made their way to their marshal point which involved a road closure, Rachel was on car park duty, Bobby, Kathryn &Elizabeth were at the start area. Bobby was directing runners to the well organised start funnels, Kathryn with clipboard was writing down runners race numbers, Elizabeth was on toilet que duty making sure everyone qued socially distanced (no need everyone did) also sanitising door handles every so often. sorry Rachel, Rebecca & Michelle didn’t get to catch up afterwards. As the tail runner left the ground we helped clear up and within 20 minutes you’d never know we’d been there. We made our way to the finish line just in time to see Goodgym Tasha finish. Elizabeth was able to hang around and cheer in runners including Bill and Katy. Very well done to our GG runners and everyone who marshalled, and most of all the organisers, who showed just how an event can be put on with COVID restrictions in place.
