We arrived to find a magnificent community turnout for the annual apple picking day at Manor Woods Valley. All around you could hear folks having fun shaking branches and using sticks (small trees?) to persuade the more reluctant fruit to join their companions on the ground.

We joined in and collected a couple of buckets of fruit before sampling some of the excellent apple juice and apple cake that had already been produced!

Today's crop will be sent for pasteurization before with the majority of the juice going to good causes like Carpenter's food bank in Withywood.
