The Baffins Pond association was a hive of activity this sunny morning preparing for their annual dog show, boot sale and conker bash. A few dogs arrived early to sniff out the competition (and hot dogs) as we used mallets to bash poles into the ground to hold up fences, gazebos and tents. Mother nature had also gifted us with a very generous drop of autumn leaves that we swept away to clear the path for incoming bargain hunters, proud doggie mums and hopeful conker conquerers!

As one BPA volunteer said of the conker bash: "No vinegar or baking in the oven or any of that malarky!" With a £2 entry fee that includes a bucket of conkers AND a hot dog, this Goodgymer may need to go back for some afternoon fun in the sun...
