Report written by Alys Penfold (she/her)
The sun came out and with it an abundance of volunteers and junior parkrunners too!
118 kids took to the course, supported by a full roster (and then some) of 31 volunteers. Great to see so many faces, familiar and new. James, Adam, Anne and Alys were four of those volunteers - with James doing his usual timekeeping, Adam and Anne marshalling and Alys as āfinish token supportā - although luckily there wasnāt much needed thanks to some brand new barcode stickers. We all went to a local cafe afterwards for a breakfast, cuppa and a natter.
It was great to see Anne back after her month in France, and it was made even more special as we were celebrating Anneās 100th volunteer stint - three cheers for Anne! You are such a valued member of the Goodgym, parkrun and local community. So much so Anne was even off to volunteer at another event in the afternoon!
Big kudos to James who still made it out despite quite a nasty fall at a Brutal race the day before - rest that leg man!!!
James will have his first go at Run Directing Woking junior parkrun the 19th June, wahey! We look forward to the bumper sign-ups that week. Thereās five Sundays between now and then though, and help is needed every week. Itās great fun, so donāt hesitate to join us!
