A big thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Saturday group run and community mission. Not only did we give others an opportunity to experience a Goodgym session first hand but we also clocked up an impressive 30 additional good deeds. This takes our January challenge up to 92 including tonight’s run. I’m confident that we will beat our 107 Good Deeds of last January! So thank you for helping to make that happen. We might not finish in the Gold league but hey ho…all that glitters is not Gold…Silver is a much nicer colour anyway!

Keeping us on our toes…

Even though we try to plan a month in ahead with our Group tasks sometimes we do get last minute change of plans. Unfortunately, Slough Museum couldn’t accommodate us tonight so a call into one of our favourites Parvaaz meant we still had a nice garden clear up session planned – what a re-leaf!

Welcome brief, quick chat about Erin’s focus group request and warm up done…we headed out the short distance to the centre.

Thank you to Pam and Sutyee for back marking tonight. And welcome back Darren …we've missed you..

Blue Monday? Don’t think so love! Red Army is here to take over

On arrival we met with Umair who gave us the task overview. There were the usual suspect jobs to do plus a bit of moss clearance.

  • Roisin, Jen and Darren made a start in the main back garden, clearing twigs, litter and wet leaves.
  • Meera and Gauri, our twiglets started by clearing the big twigs in the front carpark...ably assisted by Naomi and Jenni.
  • Mabu, Nisha, Pam and Sutyee made a start on the moss in the front areas.

Got rid off the moss boss…

We gave the whole area a faceleaft in such a short period of time and that’s in the dark with a few running lights…imagine what we can do in the Spring months…it was so dark at one point, all I could see where two figures…when I asked who they were…the response I got was

I am me and she is she!

Classic! Thanks team for being so descriptive.

The team are such perfectionists…they always try their best to clear every litter area of rubbish, moss and leaves – they really leaf an impression!

If money really did grow on trees we would be raking it in! 40 mins in and 10 bags full and we were done! Just in time to play a quick game of duck duck goose…doing deep squats! Next time I’ll choose a game that I’m actually good at as I lost three times on this one!

The qualitree of my puns might not be great – but I’m sure the reports leaf you smiling?

But what leafs me smiling every week is Run Leader Sutyee…

Never Fear as Sutyee is here

The wise words of wisdom for today are:

Three hot chocolates are a no no as they make you want to go go

So glad I told Sut of my hot chocolate addiction… I’m already looking forward to next weeks wise saying!

Is it February yet?

Isn’t January such a loooooong month! The team are clocking up the miles…so far we are on a collective 877km….well done everyone!

One more group run of the January challenge left! Let's get as many people as we can to it… https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/slough-group-run-2020-01-27

And three more community missions: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/double-trouble-at-junior-parkrun https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/toil-and-trouble-litter-pick-after-junior-parkrun https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/sorting-for-next-seasons-trend
