A weekend on the south coast for some of the GG Newham team this weekend. A Friday fun day which included catching up with Tim who we last got to see in October on our Chester tour.

We welcomed DanRuth Simon Callum on their first race tour.

Huge thank you to Rosa for sorting a place for us to stay and local knowledge of things to do and see over the weekend and to Brad for arranging Fridays food and entertainment.

An early start on Saturday for Hilary who headed off to volunteer at parkrun this is why she is our queen of deeds.

Full English on board we headed down the hill into town for our tour to continue which included a trip to The Lanes, the pier and of course fish and chips on the beach,a slow walk back up a slightly less step hill back to our accommodation for relaxed evening and carb loading ready for Sundays race.

Sunday morning arrived which meant a porridge rich breakfast before we headed to the sea front to meet up with Nick who had arrived in Brighton that morning and Rob who has recently moved to Brighton.

We headed off to our designated start pens with shouts of good luck and to enjoy the sunshine.

Due to the design of the course and slight staggered start Kevin and I hoped to see most of the team as they headed back into town as we were on our way out we only missed seeing Dan but that is because he was so quick.

Tim was unable to run due to an ankle injury but he was an awesome cheer leader for us ensuring we had the force we needed to get through.

A well supported event with lots of people out cheering all along the route....looking at all of our Strava stats we all had an amazing first 10 miles but then came the turning point and wow the wind did certainly blow.

Once showered and changed we headed out to celebrate with dinner and a beer or three.

Would definitely recommend this run and for a small fee we will lend you Rosa as your tour guide.
