A sleepless night and a deluge of life admin tasks made Mr G forget about phoning to cancel Thursday's gardening mission 😰. Having seen the weather forecast the day before, he wanted to save GoodGymers from getting soaked. Luckily, the dreaded mission cancellation scenario 😱 did not happen. Kash already had another morning task not confirmed, and Michelle suffered two cancellations - such a disappointment for a veteran GoodGymer like her! The two have been longing for an epic gardening mission together as they had not paired up for a while!

The origin story says that the tandem was born in February two years ago in Ealing when Kash decided she would only sign up for a gardening mission if someone else was going - that someone was Michelle - in the eyes of the newbie Kash - a seasoned horticulturist.

The tradition of the duo's gardening tasks was not broken as both weeding 🌿 and a drizzle 🌧️ were involved. Mr G's front garden was far from intimidating. The flowerbed was small and the weeds, although numerous, had very shallow roots. The state of the garden caused Mr G distress every time he walked past it, and he was ready to deal with the weeds himself. However, the doctor's orders were clear: no bending or strenuous activity. Mr G had ongoing problems with his back, and even coming downstairs to brief the GoodGymers caused him a couple of sharp pangs.

Pulling the shallow-rooted green invaders in the rain gave Michelle and Kash lots of satisfaction. Another enjoyable part of the task was the chat after not having an opportunity for a good catch-up recently. The less rewarding piece was digging out the bulbs of the blossoming spring flowers. Mr G made firm a decision that everything has to go, so the GoodGymers respected his will and decimated the flora in the garden with a fork and a spade. When putting the tools back into a covered area, they discovered Mr G's old bike. The gentleman loved his vehicle and never wanted to sell it. He used to be an avid cyclist in his past, wild life.

"I used to cycle everywhere, even to nightclubs!" 🕺

The job was finished in under an hour, and the gardening gloves were packed into bags. When Michelle left, Mr G came downstairs with a dustpan. Both GoodGymers had lost faith in the gentleman remembering about bringing it, but he eventually did! Kash then swept the leaves and helped Mr G with some covert green waste bagging activity 🤫, and stayed for yet another mission for Mr G - shopping!
