Bumble bees, birds, bin bags and bindweed!
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the St Faith's Church in Portsmouth.

This evening 6 GoodGymers did Portsmouth proud by tackling the first of what will no doubt be many attempts at getting rid of the bindweed!
After 4 months of lockdown growth we arrived and were faced with a scene from Jumanji. However this did not deter us, as we donned our gloves and grabs some shears! Not before our resident ornithologist Lynn had given St Faiths a complimentary bird nest check to ensure we weren't disturbing any wildlife.
Once she gave us the go ahead we were off! With Ranjitha and Ssapan going great guns by stepping in to the wilderness for deeper bindweed pulling! Luckily, I didn't lose them to the jungle.
India and Mel had the delightful task of litter picking, and found many a half drunk beer can, but they moved on to help us prune after India found something rather unsavoury and decided she was better off facing the bindweed and bumble bees, of which there were many!
A great job was done by all, and we could have kept going, but the bags were full so we downed tools and stopped for a bottle of water and Club biscuit, kindly provided by St Faiths ensuring we adhered to current government guidelines.
We're back next week to continue the battle of the bindweed, so make sure you sign up as spaces go fast!
I should add, this was my 50th good deed!!
