For the first time in a long time, a Wednesday actually felt like a Wednesday!
It was so nice to see a smiling group of GoodGymers ready to run on a Wednesday night. A whole gang of red and black t-shirts, some having their first outing (although a local dog didn't think much of Tony's wings...)
Once we had all arrived and various plants, school uniform and porridge had been stashed in panniers we headed east. The keen beans ran on the beach and a few had an accidental paddle. The rest of us stuck to the prom to stay a bit more sure-footed.
After 15 minutes it was an about turn and back to the Coffee Cup into a headwind. Big kudos to Lucy who ran from Cosham and headed back again, that's some good mileage covered this evening.
Next week, it's a hen run before Rosie gets married. Bring a top for afterwards and we'll stay for a cuppa on the beach. Anyone who's at St Faith's can come down and join us afterwards too.

Another early Saturday morning start saw 11 of us meeting up at Eastney to start our litter pick. A big welcome back to Aimee who joined us for her 2nd community mission this morning. We split into 2 groups, Amiee, Angela, Kat, Jo, Sarah and Rajintha tackled the rubbish on the shoreline and Judy, Maura, Maxine, Mel and Rachel focused higher up on the beach.
Considering the weather has been warmer the rubbish wasn't as bad as it has been. Apart from the usual finds of bbqs, cans, bottle tops, sweet wrappers and fishing line and hooks. Interesting finds were a pair of sunglasses, Elsa from Frozen, and a weird long needle that we still don't know what it could be used for.
After the beach clean some of us headed into the sea for a dip, where we were joined by Jen fresh from her night shift and Rosie who was out on a run. Another fabulous morning with Goodgym.

Congrats to Caroline on her 2nd community mission!
Tonight we were put to work on some painting jobs. We painted a picnic bench (Ssapan), 2 benches (one very carefully done by Ranjitha), the front of the pond sleepers (me & Sam), the pergola (Jo & Caroline) and the shed (Rachel & Jen)
Good job all round, plenty of chatting and wood which is now a different colour to when we arrived, as are a few streaks of hair, some tshirts and let's not mention the paving stones...
Watch this space for another visit soon!
