Report written by Manjit Birk
This was to be our last (but one!) community mission of 2020 so we thought we would combine a run, a quiz and a litter pick all in one whilst dressed as Santas'!
Who came to elf today then?
Dashing through the rain deer
After a last minute change of venue, we had all gathered at Upton Court Park just in time for the heavens to open up. But we are no wimps and had plenty to celebrate today so after a quick wet warm up, we headed to the other side of the park.
With the dash to the 5k post done, we started on the quiz!
Let's get quizzicle
Two teams, three catergories, four questions - easy as pie! (And the glorious sun came out to shine down on us at this precise moment).
Questions focused on Goodgym, Christmas and Kids, with each team sending one member to the Quiz Master to obtain the question (which was only repeated once, so a chance of Chinese whispers was a big possibilty!). A dash back to the team to relay the question and then a dash back to the Quiz Master to offer their answers! First team back got the first opportunity to give their answer and if incorrect, the opposing team could relay their answer and take the steal!
Well done to Team Ricky (Ruth, Sandy and Naomi) for winning with a massive 4 points! Ho Ho Ho
Santa's litter helpers
Dashing back to the 4km post (but not before singing Harsha's version of the 12 days of Christmas) (you have to wait till Christmas Eve to see that video!). We all santa-ised our hand and then got ready for the litter pick task. In a whizz we spilt into pairs and dashed around collected as much litter as we could in 20 minutes.
A sackful later - it was all over.
Dressed to impress
It was impossible to pick a winner for the Best Dressed Award, so it went to 3 members - Ricky, Harsha and Sut Yee. Well done on making an impression!
100 in the bag
With 74 of these 100 Good Deeds done in 2020, I think all the Santa's around the world should be applauding Nisha right now! Well done Nisha, a huge achievement for what has been a tough year. So here is my little poem for you.
