Sevan and Kash arrived at the Soup Kitchen to find everything prepared for the evening service in perfect order by the regular volunteers joined by GoodGymer Naomi at the previous session.
The GoodGym duo were positioned in the clothes department, where they met Cinderella, who tried on several pairs of shoes to find those with the ideal fit. Another memorable client couldn't decide on whether he preferred a men's leather jacket over a women's woolly coat - he felt classy in each of them.
The shift finished with the usual packing up the clothes into the Cupboard of Doom™, folding the tables and sweeping the Salvation Army Hall's floor. The bounty to take home? A few beer-battered cod fillets on the verge of expiring that the clients didn't finish off.
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.
