Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

Last night was epic. 40 of you. Two big tasks. A film crew.

The wonderful Alex and Sarah describe what went down,

“Speedy Gonzales lives, no longer in mouse form but, in a blur of black and red GoodGym t-shirts ripping apart Tulse Hill. In two groups we pounded the concrete in anticipation of our visit to the Portico Gallery, only to be greeted with a closed gate. Whilst one daring GoodGym’er sneaked around the Yoga Students in a quest to find John, the man in question appeared at the gate to welcome us in and outline the task. This week we would be rebuilding marquis to store marquis in, sorting them by colour and finish moving the tables we have grown to know so well into the newly refurbished storage marquis. Erica was almost taken down a couple of times, once by a hideous marquis refurbishing troll and once by lovely West Norwood local; no injuries were sustained. Needless to say we left John a happy bunny. We gathered outside to pull up our socks and tighten our laces. Without hesitation we ran back, bombing it downhill in three groups; each group skimming MINUTES off their return journey. “Undelay, Undelay”” Alex

"The lime-light seeking majority of us ran approx 1.3 miles to Holland Town Estate where we met Ameena and Nathalia, and were filmed by the Team London crew. Nathalia introduced a one group to the art of "double-digging", and during that process daffodil bulbs were rescued and weeds discarded. Two other green-fingered groups took to banishing unwanted roots from flower beds, cheered on by the occasional passerby. Another group kept running, delivering flyers to the estate residents. Coxy put us through our paces with some circuit training involving the climbing frame (the group gardening outside the park stayed quietly out of sight during this). We didn't quite manage to finish all the tasks, but Amina's reaction our progress made it all worth it, and we can always go back! As if we weren't tired enough at the end of that, we took an extended route back to Papa's Park so that we could be filmed* in various running formations, and attempting to race a bus. After that we took a more leisurely jog back to choose between strawberry and mango sweets. Yum" Sarah
