Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Helen Conner (she/her)
7 Goodgymers volunteered at the Bath Pavillion with BEMS. The group invited to the centre for their vaccine were categorised as those with serious medical conditions that have been advised to shield since last March. As this group are very vulnerable we were all asked to undertake a covid lateral flow test.
After all receiving the all clear we were briefed on our roles.
We had the whole flow covered in the centre. Our roles essentially ensured that the people invited for their vaccinations were checked before they moved through the building whilst maintaining social distancing and exited back to their cars so their was minimal time spent at the centre.
From the door, Emily braved the freezing temperatures and managed the flow into the building, Helen then asked a series of questions to ensure they could have the vaccine. A BEMS offical checked them in and then Doristook their temperature and put gel on their hands.
Alison and Rachel helped inside the hall ushering people to their vaccination booths, whilst Cosmo ensured they knew how to exit the building.
Whilst Mary marshalled the side of the building for those attending who required assisted access. She performed temperature checks and asking the series of questions before sending them into the main hall.
Well done to all involved and for being part of our local fight against coronovirus!
BEMS is the local GP federation linking together all the General Practices across B&NES. It is a not-for-profit organisation and every practice in the area is a member of BEMS. We are based in Bath and work to support practices and their staff to look after their patients.
