Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michelle
On a sunny Saturday morning 7 goodgymers ran/walked/cycled and picked trash for Coastal Clean Up Day.
The area in front of the Crabtree Pub by Fulham reach is often in need of attention and water a problem it is. A regular spot for GoodGym group runs pre Covid, the shoreline was full of litter and in much need of a tidey up.
Today’s mission was organised by Cathy and Michelle to support the nationwide Coastal Clean Up and buoy did we clean up. Along with Monika, Chris, Amanda, Matt and Eloise we each filled a bag of plastic straws, bottles, cups, shoes, boots, flip flops, crisp packets, cans, sweeping brush, polystyrene, tennis balls amongst a host of other items.
Looking out on the river glistening in front of us it’s impossible to understand how anyone could knowingly dump waste. With so much to pick we’ll return to the spot in a couple of weeks to pick up where we left off. Look out for the community mission if you’d like to join.
After an hour we finished up with two GG traditions a group selfie and some homemade flapjack. Until next time!
