Grand Bandstand
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Portsmouth Residents and Visitors in Portsmouth.
- Monday, 19th of October 2020
- Led by Judy Knapp
With Southsea Castle, Spitbank Fort and the Solent as our grand backdrop, we made the most of the last week of light evenings to litter-pick the grass area around the bandstand.
Catherine, Katie, Lynn, Rosie, Jo and I just about managed to keep the litter in our bags as we battled with the gusty wind.
We found remnants of celebrations, with streamers and silver confetti; windblown take-away wrappers; countless cigarette ends and beer caps.
Rosie started Halloween early with a creepy spider ring, but Jo hit the litter-pick jackpot by finding bags of smelly fish guts, presumably left by sea-anglers.
6 people + 60 minutes = a litter-free grand bandstand + feelgood friendly fun!

I love to combine keeping active, helping my local community, protecting the environment and having fun with others doing the same.
