The Hot Walls got the meticulous GG treatment: we did almost a fingertip search of the beach, from east to west, from shoreline to the Walls. Not a single piece of plastic, fishing line or bottle-top was safe from capture.
We scanned the beach until the light was too low to distinguish plastic from pebble.
So, then we went to the pub!

A lovely stroll along the new sea defences offered limited litter which was nice to see.
A very clear afternoon afforded some lovely views across the Solent. And Dave and Val climbed to the top of the round tower to have a look around.
Lost count of the amount of cigarette butt's we found after the first 100!

It was a busy day at the food bank 🥫, making up 30 parcels for our local residents. Lisa and Yvonne made the food parcels with help from new volunteer Matthew. Rob looked after toiletries. Lucy and Tracey helped on weighing and the swaps table. Pat helped in the cafe. Fiona on front desk. It was good to see quite a few new volunteers today. We were still kept very busy all morning.

After the food bank we all helped pack down and tidy up. Food shopping was reordered for next week. I’ve tried to make lid matching easier by adding stickers. 🐭🐸🐧🕷️🦁🐍

Sinéad, Dave and I headed on to our third good deed of the day, after a quick refuel at Beenys Cafe.
Yvonne and Lisa joined us for a wander around the pond, where we found a surprisingly small amount of litter.
It was so cold that most of the pond had frozen over. We did enjoy the ducks, geese and one brave rat take to the ice - some with more success than others!

A frosty early morning 🥶 start saw us clearing rubbish from the car park and alley at Great Salterns.
The standard vape was found along with plenty of Carlsberg and Monster cans, must've been a great party! 🎉 All items being prised from the ice on the ground!
And then the discovery of a car roof, complete with sunroof made our trip back to the bin a much bigger workout!! 🚗💪
