Report written by Tim Dickson
Morning Bexley Goodgymers. Well although it was dull and misty last night we still managed a great run and walk out to help our friends at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice......
We had two groups last night. We had the power walking crew, and the running crew. Big shout out to Nick for looking after the walkers. Myself, Susan and Sarah front and back marked the runners. Tonight it was the runners goal to do the longer loop and beat the walkers to the task but i don't think Nick was going to let this happen. Yep, he came out victorious and was already working on the task in hand as we arrived. The runners will get you next time.
After saying hi to Chris we got to work with the tasks in hand. Stairs and hallways needed sweeping, clearing and then hoovering. We had another team upstairs pricing and size tagging garments ready for display, and at the same time had more goodgymers working on clearing and cleaning the kitchen areas. Bammm! it was poetry in motion.
BAMMMM! IT WAS POETRY IN MOTION............
The task took us a little over our allotted time but it was well worth. Seeing the work we had done and knowing that the shop will open tomorrow with fresh stock out and lovely clean areas that i know will help the volunteers out is just so rewarding.
OK, time was no longer on our side but we knew we couldn't leave without our mandatory group photo. It was then a fast pace jog back to base camp to complete another awesome Bexley Goodgym session.
Thank you to everyone that made it this week. You are all awesome. If you are reading this and would like to join us but was worried about running. Why not join our power walkers and build up your fitness slowly. We'd love to have you at our Bexley Goodgym sessions. Until next week team..........
