Report written by Katie Carew-Robinson (she/her)
Maxine and I had a nice run down to Naomi House from the Lido, arriving in perfect time to see Sam waiting to cross the road in her rather lovely tshirt with wings! The team was ready.
In the shop there was only one member of staff and no volunteers so we were definitely very welcome.
We took over the sort room as usual and it went from a few items hung on one rail to rails groaning under the weight of all the clothes.
The time went really fast as we chatted, sang along to the radio and found some photo worthy items of clothing. We also found out what the number one song was on all our birthdays... Knowing me, knowing you (ABBA); True (Spandau Ballet) and Goodnight Girl (Wet, Wet, Wet). 3 different decades but a trio of classic tunes!
There are more chances to help out with this lovely task in the coming weeks.
