Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lucy Hill
Another first Sunday of the month, and Amanda and her crack team at the Chiswick Flower Market could rely on 5 of the finest GoodGymmers to help with the closing down.
We all seemed to be dab hand at this now, and Amanda rounded up Chris, Harvey, Analiese and Jane to take down the banners and signage. It was even more exciting today, as Amanda informed us that the Flower Market Team now had their own storage area, and Jane took on the job of bringing the bits round to the new shed.
Lucy single handedly moved the yellow parking cones from along the market area, and stacked them up neatly in their usual spot, and was soon joined by the rest of the gang who had finished banner duties. Harvey made himself useful by helping a few of the sellers pack down by moving boxes and crates (although in his own words ‘I’m not sure if I’m more of a help or a hindrance right now’). There were alsoonly a few of the dastardly red fences to move today thankfully, and a trip across the road to Bond Street for Analiese, Chris and Lucy to bring over the parking signs from there.
And what sort of GoodGym task would it be without a litter pick? We all took a picker and filled up a few bags with the little bits of rubbish that had amassed over a few hours, and played a new game called ‘litter or leaf?’ (Where you have to decide if the thing you’re picking up is a plant or plastic).
It was nearly time, and we followed Amanda round with her pull along trolley full of pickers and jute bags to the storage unit to pack away the final bits before we were off again.
